1/4/02 - I don't often mention upcoming TV programmes but tomorrow at 9pm
on Channel 4 an update on the Gaskin family story, 'No Going Back'.
I mentioned it before.
And for the more (less?) prurient minded a selection of the classic
'mutton dressed as lamb' Jayne
Gaskin. [Warning: silicone-enhanced ex-Playboy bunny, ahoy]

24/3/02 - A pretty comprehensive catalogue of Factory
Records, posters, memorabilia, artefacts and dental bills.

24/3/02 - When you go down to the woods today, something
very strange
is going on:
"We're sorry to report that the gristly illegal practise of
pig bouncing is still prevalent in Puckoon Woods...
Pig bouncing , which apparently does not harm the pigs (in fact they
enjoy it - similar to the foxes in fox hunting no doubt) is judged on how
high the pigs fly, how many trampolines are landed on, and the pig's final
dismount, ideally a straight legged finish with snout in the air."

24/3/02 - Scourge of the Metro letters
page, Major James Buffy-Maun.

24/3/02 - Real cider is Brimblecombe
cider!
"The ciders are still pressed in traditional straw cheeses
- the only maker I know of still doing this - and you can often taste the
straw in the finished product."

24/3/02 - Burger King improves
on the veggie Whopper (bun, lettuce, tomato and mayo - that was all!):
"Burger King unveiled the BK Veggie on Monday, hoping to provide
a meatless alternative to the Whopper and other fast-food fare. The flame-broiled,
soy-free patty offers a blend of vegetables, grains and spices on a sesame
seed bun."

24/3/02 - An interview
with Jeff Mangum; it's not looking good for Neutral Milk Hotel fans:
"Pitchfork: Will there be another Neutral Milk Hotel album?
Jeff: I don't know. It would be nice, but sometimes I kind of doubt
it..."

24/3/02 - I share a birthday
with Paul
Dirac - how cool is that?

24/3/02 - Quotes
from the movie 'Jaws' in which 'shark' is replaced by 'Jimmy Page': (via
I
Love Everything)
"You see a barracuda, everyone says, 'Huh? What?' You yell
'Jimmy Page,' we've got a panic on our hands on the 4th of July."
