The American Splendor comic strip featuring Billy Bragg.

American Splendor

I don't quite follow this bit:
"Pekar, once banned from David Letterman’s Late Show for publicly criticising NBC, says the editors of Entertainment Weekly objected to the portrayal of Bragg as “a liberal”. And so, after repeated requests to “tone down the references” and make it more “editorially friendly”, the strip was rejected."
If anything portraying him as a 'liberal' is a bit wishy-washy!

The original Independent article of course has now expired, but someone has kept all the text. It's a feature on the stupid names rock stars give their children. And that's the least of it, as says Moon Unit Zappa:

"I was offered a diaphragm at age 12, but I didn't know what it was for. In my 20s, I realised not everyone knew what it sounded like when their parents had sex."

B of the Bang, a new sculpture for Manchester. The image shows its height when compared to the leaning tower of Pisa etc. There is also a weblog.

Seamus Heaney’s Top Hip Hop Picks:

DMX:
“For me it is quite simple: Beneath growling menace, the din of self-proclamation. Beneath this, the authentic mutter of salvaged identity. I must call him a friend of Virgil, a maker of violent chronicles. The scarred heart issues a final, shattering truth -- let us say, nullity.”

Once again, a ridiculous gap. Therefore, lots of links, little commentary.
